Garage and garden clearances can involve very different materials. A quote for furniture and boxes is not necessarily a quote for soil, rubble, timber or chemicals. Describe each part of your Havant clearance separately.
Garages, sheds and outbuildings
Show the whole space in your photographs, including shelving, larger objects and the access route. Explain whether shelving or fitted storage is to stay. Clearing the contents of a shed is different from dismantling and removing the structure itself, so specify which job you need.
Garden contents or garden waste?
Bagged cuttings, branches, outdoor furniture, timber, paving and soil may need different handling. List them separately and flag anything heavy. Ask the provider which materials they accept, whether the price covers loading and what disposal charges are included.
Do not hide specialist items in a mixed load
Flag paints, batteries, gas bottles, chemicals and suspected asbestos before a quote is agreed. If you are unsure what a material is, describe it and ask for advice rather than breaking it up or mixing it with other contents. A general clearance provider may not be equipped for specialist materials.
Help the provider assess access
- Is there a side or rear gate, and how wide is it?
- Are there steps, uneven ground or a long carry to the road?
- Can the vehicle park close to the loading point?
- Are items loose, boxed, bagged or fixed in place?
- Does the job include dismantling, or only removal?
Could you dispose of a small load yourself?
If the contents can be moved safely, check the official local disposal options before booking a collection. Our Havant disposal comparison links to the council and recycling-centre information. Do not assume a household visit route is available to a paid contractor; the provider must use an appropriate disposal route.
